My Happy Little Village from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

 I continue to make great progress whittling down my UFO list.  I have finally dropped below 20 projects and I have a number of quilts that are entering the final stages.




Today I get to share my Happy Village quilt.




I started this quilt almost a decade ago.  I hade made all the string blocks and then set everything aside.  This has always been a quilt I either wanted to write a pattern or structure a class for.

Oh Scrap! : Progress from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

 I knew my little scrappy house project would be a fairly fast finish.  I already have the center of the quilt top all sewn up.



I decide to keep the strips vertical and stagger the houses.




Now it is time to decide how to use the HSTs for a border.  I have enough to create this pattern on two sides to make an asymmetrical design.





Or I could add this sawtooth design to two corners.




To make the quilt more of a rectangular shape, I could add this design to the top and bottom of the quilt.

On My Design Wall from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

 I found some time this morning to sew the blocks that have been taking up space on my design wall for a couple of months into a quilt top.  That means I can start working on something new!




I decided to work on the string blocks I shared Sunday.  I am making some fun scrappy houses out of them.  I haven't decided if I am going to run the stripes vertically or horizontal.  
But I kind of like them vertically!
